John Coburn, a Canadian artist, was born in Hamilton and is based in Toronto. He is best known for his pen & ink line drawings & bold oil on canvas paintings. Coburn’s work is represented by Beckett Fine Art (Hamilton), Gagne Contemporary (Toronto/New York), and Sybil Frank Gallery (Prince Edward County). John can often be spotted working on location in big cities around the world. In his own words, John has always felt the pull to create, and that creativity often rewards him with a sense of purpose and accomplishment.

“As an artist, I’m street obsessive. I’m happiest working ‘en plein air.’ The intensity of setting up my portable studio on any given street--whether it be Paris, New York, London, or Tokyo--infuses me with the spontaneity to create emotionally-charged art.”
